In partnership with the Second Chance Project, Boys & Girls Clubs (NI) offered 10 young people from North Belfast the opportunity to do a piece of research into the barriers facing young people around engaging in opportunities for education, employment and training.
Throughout the course of the project the group conducted questionnaires and focus groups with their peers, to establish quantitative and qualitative data which will form the basis of a report. The report was pulled together by an external consultant, but was essentially be shaped by the young people involved in the project.
During the project the young people had the opportunity to receive training, including completing and OCN and an ILM certified qualification. They also had access to regular support with a youth worker involved in the project.
