BARONESS MAY BLOOD MBE
PRESIDENT OF BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS (NI) 2019 – 2022
Baroness May Blood will be remembered for her impact as a founding member of the Northern Ireland Women’s Coalition and a campaigner for integrated education in Northern Ireland. May retired from the House of Lords in 2018.
The work that May Blood has done for the promotion of integrated education as well as her long record of work and commitment to trade union activism and her presentation of gender rights, have benefitted all those committed to building a new generation who can enjoy peace and a shared life together.
May Blood was a truly progressive force for change. During her lifetime she worked tirelessly for those who were underprivileged – economically, educationally and socially.
May has been an inspiration and an encouragement to many people, especially to women, children and young people, and her influence lives on in the lives of others.
May will be missed by the Board members, staff and volunteers of Boys & Girls Clubs.
