Over 80 young boxers from across Northern Ireland took part in our annual Boxing Competition on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June in Downpatrick.

The weekend saw two action packed days of boxing, with several new Champions collecting gold medals.

Thanks to all our volunteers and officials who helped the event to run smoothly.

NABGC 5-A-Side Championships

NABGC 5-A-SIDE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Ten teams from Northern Ireland traveled to the NABGC 5-A-Side Finals in Manchester on Saturday 10th June.  Having already qualified from the Northern Ireland regional rounds, the teams from Holy Family YC, Glen Parent YC, Ederney YC, Dungannon YRC (2), Willowbank YC (2), Crusaders Strikers FC, Carnmoney Ladies FC and Ballynahinch Youth FC knew they would face tough competition to come away with a UK title.

After a long day of football, Crusaders Strikers (U12 Girls), Ballynahinch Youth (U14 Girls) and Dungannon (U14 Boys) all came away as champions in their relevant age groups.  Carnmoney Ladies (U14 Girls) finished runners-up, while Holy Family and Glen Parent (both U16 Boys) made the semi-finals.  The teams also has the chance to explore Manchester, taking in sites like Old Trafford stadium and the Trafford Centre.

All the teams enjoyed the trip and the experience, and we are already planning ahead to next years Northern Ireland and UK Championships.

Boys & Girls Clubs (NI) will be hosting our annual Boxing Competition on 17th & 18th June in Downpatrick.

All clubs should also bring a completed Access Membership Form on the day of the competition, along with their Competition Entry Form.
