Annual Regional Boxing Competition

Boys & Girls Clubs Annual Regional Boxing Championships will be held this year on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th June 2019 in Corpus Christi ABC.

This event is not to be missed and boxers will be selected over the weekend for a mega international trip later this year.

Jackie Maxwell Presidents Award 2018

Boys & Girls Clubs would like to congratulate Ben Nelson on winning the Jackie Maxwell Award 2018.

The Jackie Maxwell Award is reflective of the work, commitment and dedication of Jackie Maxwell – a respected, selfless voluntary worker, who touched the hearts of many both on and off the football pitch. He was also a highly esteemed soccer club manager and vice-president of Boys & Girls Clubs.  Jackie’s passion was youth football and  he encouraged young people to participate in all sports and to strive for success!

This year’s recipient of the award is Ben Nelson from Townland Boxing Club, Glenavy. Ben has been boxing with the club for eight years and has a very strong commitment to the sport. He has mentored and coached many younger boxers and over-seen many community projects within Townland Boxing Club.

Ben will use the Jackie Maxwell Award bursary to help assist with training, accommodation and travel costs for his upcoming boxing tournament ‘The Black Forest Cup’ in Germany. We would all like to wish Ben the best of luck in the competition.

This competition is open to all Boxers (Boys & Girls) born in:
2006,2005, 2004, 2002, 2002, 2001, 2000
£4.00 entry fee per boxer (Payable on the day)

Club Affiliation is £10.00 for this event (Payable on the day)
Weigh In:
Will take place on Saturday 26th of May from 10am -11:00am
After weigh-ins.

Draws will be posted on our website, and linked on Facebook and Twitter, all of which will be updated throughout the weekend:
Will start at immediately after the draw (12 noon approx) and continue onto Sunday 27th at same venue.

Any draws that require a third day will be completed the following week and possibly at an alternative venue.
This competition is only open to affiliated Boys & Girls Clubs Members.
Boxers: Medical Record Books MUST be produced at the weigh-in.

Coaches: Are responsible for the behaviour of the young people on the day.
Coaches: Will endeavour to set a high standard of hygiene in the corners.

Clubs: Clubs must be affiliated to IABA.
Clubs: Competition is only open to clubs based in Northern Ireland.

Other Information Red or Orange gum shields are prohibited.
